I ran the Frank Duffy 10 Miler in Phoenix Park two weeks ago. It was the second race I'd run since I was 18 and the longest race I'd ever run, and all in all, I was happy to run 1:17:00. Now if I was Randian VP hopeful Paul Ryan, I'd probably be disgusted with my shoddy time and telling everyone I knew that I could run much, much faster (which he did). But what time exactly would I tell people? Thankfully someone has gone to the trouble of creating a website that calibrates real running times according to fantastical Ryanian projections. Now I can exalt in the fact that I actually ran a 55:50 10 miles that day, which is actually only 11 minutes off the world record. The smart people at Buzzfeed Sport have gone to the bother of calculating many of the great runs in recent history on Ryan time, which is pretty great. Bolt would have 6.95 100 metre dash if he was Paul Ryan. Incredible.
