Liverpool set records on Wednesday night: their 23 goals for the Champions League group stage is the most an English team has ever scored at that stage of the competition and the 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow is the heaviest defeat a Russian side had ever suffered in the competition.
Despite their achievements, made while playing some hugely entertaining football, Roy Keane - speaking on ITV's Champions League highlights show - had little praise to offer Liverpool beyond saying they're an enjoyable team to watch.
They're certainly in great form at the moment and scoring for fun. A comfortable night for them tonight, a good start for them, their attacking players certainly enjoyed it.
We keep repeating ourselves, the big tests are yet to come for Liverpool. Clearly, they're beating these so-called lesser teams, the same in the Premier League but they've beaten nobody yet.
Presenter Mark Pougatch then offered Keane an open goal. It just so happened that he had former Arsenal player Lee Dixon sitting on the couch next to him.
Pougatch: Domestically and in Europe, you feel [they've beaten nobody]?
Keane: Yeah, both.
Pougatch: They beat Arsenal back in August.
Keane: That's what I mean.
The Ireland assistant manager believes that when Liverpool face one of the powers of European football, they will be caught out.
It's lovely to watch. They would cause problems but they wouldn't get time and space against a decent team, it's as simple as that. Tonight, enjoyable to watch, when you give players like that time on the ball they are going to punish you. The reality is that if they are playing a top team in Europe, they won't get that time and space and they won't get those opportunities.
You can only beat what's in front of you, but if you want to step back and if you understand this game, you know that they have much bigger tests coming up.
