The divisional round of the NFL play-offs kicked off last night and while their wasn't quite the thrills and spills of last week's wildcard, there was still some meaty plays to get stuck into.
The Seattle Seahawks ran past the New Orleans Saints 23-15 in Seattle despite the Saints starting the game with a "kill everything in sight" gameplan. Wide reciever Percy Harvin was the main focus of attention and the first ball thrown his way resulted in this:
The Saints had two missed field goals during the game and one Ace Ventura reference. LACES OUT. DIE DAN DIE. Shayne Graham had no chance.
Despite trailing for most of the game, the Saints recovered an onside kick with 26 seconds remaining to give themselves one last shot at a tie. Quarterback Drew Brees found wide reciever Marcus Colston by the sideline and he for some reason made this play ending the game.
Next it was to Foxboro in New England to see if the Patriots could get past Andrew Luck and the Colts. They managed to comfortably in the end by coming up with one plan; run over everyone. The Pats rushed for six touchdowns in a 22-43 win. Their punter Ryan Allen had a tough time early on though giving up this safety after a botched snap.
Andrew Luck was still fired up despite throwing four interceptions, here is struggling to keep his emotions and spit in check.
LeGarrette Blount had an outstanding night, rushing for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns. The big ball carrier ran over everything but that didn't stop the referee from getting all up in his face.
The Patriots will either host the San Diego Chargers next week at Foxboro or they will head to Denver to take on the Broncos in the AFC Championship game. The Seahawks will host the winner of today's San Francisco 49'ers/Carolina Panthers game in the NFC Championship game.
