When referee Herb Dean asked Conor McGregor and Denis Siver to touch gloves before last night's fight, the Dubliner extended his hand. The German did not reciprocate.
So McGregor gave him the middle finger. Even if Siver had extended his hand, McGregor probably still would have made the gesture.
At the post fight press conference, the Irishman explained why he made the gesture, saying that it was due to Siver's use of steroids in the past. It was not just aimed at his direct opponent though, it was also for another fighter in his weightclass, Ricardo Lamas.
Lamas released a parody video of McGregor last week and the 26-year-old did enjoy it.
I looked down to the crowd and seen forty chins and I climbed up them forty chins and it was Ricardo Lamas. So I gave him the finger aswell. I seen him in the hotel with a big box of pizza, now I'm talking about a 22" pizza. On top of the 22" pizza was a big can of Pepsi or Coke...
He's a big fat mess, making stupid videos. Get in the gym and perform impressive and climb up that ladder. You fought like a pussy when you fought Jose.
And then I'm looking out into the crowd and I see Jose with his, my face on a joker poster or something like that. They all think it's fun and games. I'm not playing here. The only thing that stopped me from smacking Jose and stiffening him up in the crowd was the money. I love the money.
