Introducing the newest extreme sport, full contact skydiving. This new sport is best described as a hybrid between mixed martial arts and skydiving.
The rules are as follows. the fight commences at 15,000 feet where both fighters engage in hand-to-hand combat while free falling until they reach 4,000 feet where they must pull their chutes. Fighters are not allowed to interfere with their opponent's parachute or attempt to strangle them with their parachute chords. A referee free falls alongside the action to ensure that the chaos remains somewhat organised.
UFC bantamweight contender Urijah Faber is an advocate of the sport. He has been training fighters to engage in what he calls a "savage ballet". Faber explains in this video how the introduction of helmets ensured that sportsmanship was not sacrificed for the mid-air bouts.
As he said in this video. "We saw a lot of biting, eye-gouging, headbutting, guys losing consciousness. As soon as the helmets came in, that changed everything."
