The latest chapter of Freddy Adu's globetrotting career has seen the American end up in Poland.
Widely regarded as a future superstar when he was an young teenager, Adu signed his first professional contract in 2004 with DC United when he was just 14.
The 28-year-old remains the youngest player to score in MLS, but has not had a club since leaving NASL-side Tampa Bay Rowdies last year. A trial in February with Portland Timbers did not end in a contract, so Adu has returned to Europe in a bid to join a club.
On Monday, Polish side Sandecja Nowy Sacz announced the former American international joined the club on trial. Newly promoted to the Polish top-tier this season, they have two points from their opening three matches.

While Adu's arrival has given the club worldwide publicity, it looks like it has come against the wishes of manager Radoslaw Mroczkowski.
According to the Daily Mail, Mroczkowski was unaware the move was happening, and even called Adu by the wrong name.
I just heard someone picked him up from the airport.
This is not my idea, so let's face it, the man who wants to have Frank Adu on the team, I do not accept this, it was not consulted with me.
I will not test it, as someone else wants, and they can do it. In my opinion, the club is so ridiculous. Instead of building a team in a sensible way, we are looking for old vacuum cleaners.
Despite the early promise, Adu has played all around the world, with spells in the likes of Portugal, France, Greece, Turkey, Brazil, Serbia and Finland.
Being compared to an "old vacuum cleaner" on the first day of a trial is not the best of starts for the Ghanaian-born player.
Whatever happens in the south of Poland, Adu's trial in Nowy Sacz marks the latest chapter in a nomadic career.
