Last Week, Frankie Got Screwed By: the New England Patriots
Bill Belichick looked as bad as I felt after the Patriots crumbled in Seattle last week.
Belichick's men – money in the bank over the years - surrendered a 13-point fourth quarter lead. I was cursing my luck as Tom Brady and Wes Welker connected on that final fourth down and left a yard short of picking of the first down they needed to continue their drive.
I didn't know it at the time, but that Seahawks comeback would cost me a three figure sum after Green Bay – just like I thought they would – won in Houston to round off what would have been a nice fourfold with New England, Atlanta and the Giants.
Thanks Belichick.
This week though, I'm going to bounce back. I can feel it.
Frankie's Lock Of The Week: Dallas to beat Carolina @ 10/13 (General)
The Dallas Cowboys were extremely unlucky to lose to the Ravens on Sunday.
Had kicker Dan Bailey shifted his kick a little more to the right, they would come away with a great road win against one of the best teams in the AFC.
The Carolina Panthers prove the opposition for the Cowboys this Sunday and both sides will be looking to revive their fast-fading playoff chances.
With a record of 1-4 and a bye week coming up, Carolina simply cannot afford another loss. The stakes are higher for Cowboys, who must improve their 2-3 record or accept missing the postseason for the third straight year.
Dallas quarterback Tony Romo was 25-for-36 against Baltimore and a similar sort of game should be enough for his side to chalk up a vital win against the pretty woeful Panthers.
Frankie's Team to Avoid At All Costs: the Baltimore Ravens
A mix of injuries and old age has finally caught up with this Ravens defence and a trip to Houston to take on the Texans is the last thing they need.
Houston are coming off a defeat to Green Bay and they will be keen bounce back and make a statement here.
Avoid Baltimore at all costs.
