Frankie’s Lock Of The Week: The Green Bay Packers +3 @ 10/11 (General)
We cashed in on the Packers last week (just) so let's do it again this week.
Even though the New York Giants are coming off a bye week and even though this game is being played in New York, that won't stop the Packers coming away with a win.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks to have finally reached top form after a slow start to the season and leads the NFL with a QB rating of 107.3 and has connected on 67.2% of his passes.
Meanwhile Eli Manning is taking quite a lot of heat in the Big Apple for some of the Giants' poor performances. Last year's Super Bowl winning quarterback is averaging just 164.4 passing yards over his last three outings and the Giants have struggled as a result.
Linebacker Clay Matthews is admittedly a big loss for Green Bay through injury, but the Packers will be keen to rectify the 37-20 loss to the Giants in the Divisional round of last year's play-offs and revenge might just be on their minds going into this one.
Bottom line though, the Packers are not playing like underdogs at the moment, giving them a three point head-start is crazy.
Frankie’s Underdog of the Week: The Oakland Raiders @ 10/3 (General)
Okay, so the Raiders have lost their last three games but last Sunday in their 38-17 defeat to the New Orleans Saints they weren't THAT bad.
Even in the statistical battles over the last three games, they have shaped up well. Unfortunately that's not going to get them a win against the 5-5 Cincinnati Bengals but it is something they can build on.
Oakland quarterback Carson Palmer has thrown for 300 or more yards in three consecutive games for the first time in his career and that kind of form coming up against his former team for the first time might just allow him to get something done.
Frankie’s Team to Avoid: The San Diego Chargers @ 5/6 (BlueSQ)
At a price of 5/6 against the Baltimore Ravens I will be steering well clear of the Chargers.
San Diego have lost FIVE of their last six games while quarterback Philip Rivers has thrown 14 interceptions and has been sacked a whopping 26 times.
Avoid the Chargers at all costs on Sunday.
