There is a new era coming to the world of Cork GAA.
Reports claim that Frank Murphy is to step down as the Secretary of the Cork County Board, having taken up the position in the 1970s.
Murphy was on the County Board when Pairc Ui Chaoimh was built that decade, and was still on the board this summer when the redeveloped stadium opened.
A fixture of the GAA's Annual Congress, Murphy is one of the most vociferous and passionate administrators in the country. His presence will be missed next year.

The 2018 GAA Congress next spring will have a different feel to it in Murphy's absence. One of Ireland's best-known GAA administrators, Murphy's presence will surely be missed.
