Before entering into a live draft it is essential that you have in your head, who you want to pick and when you want to pick them. As the majority of each club's goals will come from their strikers it is obvious that these positions will be the most important to Fantasy Premier League Draft Managers. We put together a list of who we would put in our top 30 strikers in the Premier League to prepare for a ten team draft.
Top 10
1. Romelu Lukaku (Man Utd)
Man Utd's new signing Romelu Lukaku is our top striker pick. He has proven himself in the league, scoring 25 goals and providing six assists for Everton last season. In all he has scored 85 goals and provided 35 assists in his five full seasons in the league. His move to Man Utd will provide him with better reception from team mates at a higher level, and based on his opening fixtures he is top of our draft list.
2. Harry Kane (Spurs)
Harry Kane is another proven Fantasy Premier scorer., scoring 29 goals in just 30 appearances last season, totalling 75 goals in his first three full seasons in the first team. The only thing keeping him off our top spot is Lukaku's fixtures.
3. Sergio Aguero (Man City)
Aguero has been Man City's primary goal threat for the last number of seasons, and still deserves a place high in our top 10, when he plays he scores consistently. New signing Gabriel Jesus and how this partnership pans out will be key to Aguero and Man City's season, but most important vital to his draft managers.
4. Gabriel Jesus (Man City)
Jesus made an instant impression in his first season with Man City, providing seven goals and four assists in his 10 appearances. Like Aguero his points tally may be affected by his strike partner and how the duo are deployed by Pep, but never the less he is worth a draft pick early on.
5. Alvaro Morata (Chelsea)
Morata is a newcomer to the league, but in joining champions Chelsea, he will be given ample opportunity to improve upon his impressive display last season where he provided 15 goals and five assists in just 1331 minutes in La Liga, which equates to less than 15 full 90 minute spells rather than 26 appearances he made for Real Madrid . Diego Costa's uncertain future will also work in Morata's favour in the battle for minutes early on in the season.
6. Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal)
Lacazette is another newcomer to the league, and brings with him an exceptional goal record in recent seasons for Lyon. With Alexis Sanchez yet to return to preseason Lacazette can hit the ground running with regular gametime up front for Arsenal, and could quickly become a necessity in the game.
7. Javier Hernandez (West Ham)
Two time Premier League winner Chicarito has scored goals wherever he has played, he is Mexico's all time leading goalscorer, and contributed 37 goals and nine assists in 103 Premier League appearances for Man Utd, worth noting that 54 of these appearances were as a substitute. West Ham have a decent start to the season and as a regular starter Hernandez will offer a lot to Fantasy Premier League Managers
8. Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
With uncertainty over Coutinho's future and Sadio Mane currently injured, Firmino seems to be the best route into Liverpool's attack. In two seasons at Liverpool he has provided 21 goals and 14 assists in 66 appearances, which is an excellent return.
9. Jermaine Defoe (Bournemouth)
'Defoe scores goals!' 15 goals in two successive seasons for a struggling Sunderland team, and 158 Premier League goals in his career. Age doesn't seem to matter in his case having forced his way back into the England set up, playing in a much better team in Bournemouth will also help his cause.
10. Charlie Austin and Manolo Gabbiadini (Southampton)
It's now not clear whether both Austin and Gabbiadini or one of the pair will be starting each week for Southampton, but with the club's excellent run of matches, Fantasy Draft managers need to consider one of the duo in their picks, however it will be a real gamble on which to choose.
Austin had been in great form last season scoring six goals prior to a long injury lay off. He has hit the ground running in preseason scoring price in a recent 2-2 draw against Brentford and if he can remain fit he is capable of reaching or exceeding the 18 goals he scored for relegated QPR in the 2014/15 season.
Gabbiadini arrived at Southampton in the January transfer window and scored six goals in his first four matches, and having a seventh wrongly disallowed in the EFL Cup final in this period. An injury soon after stalled his first season in England and he played a bit part role in the closing weeks of last term. He is now back fully fit and scored in a recent friendly win against St. Etienne and started ahead of Austin in another friendly against Sevilla.
