The Connacht Tribune has a story today about the man who became a YouTube sensation last week when he was pictured wiping his face with a €50 note on RTÉ's coverage of the Galway races.

It turns out he's actually a retired postman from Tuam named Denis Sweeney and was standing in picture on RTÉ as he wanted to confer with Brian Gleeson about a horse he was considering backing.

So Mr. Sweeney isn't actually the arrogant oligarch, property magnate or office furniture mogul that many had speculated, it happens that he didn't realise that he was wiping his face with the large denomination of currency.

I was saturated at the time and I just pulled out the first thing that I got my hands on which happened to be a €50 note. After talking to Brian I just went about my business.

The following day was just ridiculous. I was approached by relations saying that I was up on YouTube which I know nothing about. I cannot even text.
