Tomorrow morning at 9am, tickets go on sale for the Aer Lingus College Football Classic at the Aviva on 3 September. Boston College take on Georgia Tech in what's sure to be an epic American football game. Last Thursday, the game was launched at Trinity College. Cheerleaders and mascots from both colleges were on hand, as were some beautiful machines that allowed fans to test their NFL skills against each other.
It was a sad day for this writer, as I was schooled in my own country's national game. You see, I am from New Jersey, and being an American, I consider myself superior to all foreigners when it comes to American football. Joining me was Dublin's Mossy Quinn, and I decided to challenge him in a mini-combine measuring arm-speed, tackling force and kicking distance.
He killed me.
I let myself down. I let my country down. I may have passport revoked by Barack Obama for crimes against American football. Don't let that discourage you from attending the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, though.
