The build up to UFC Fight Night Boston on January 18th has basically been a one-man show.
The event has been build as Conor McGregor's final stepping stone to a UFC title fight with Jose Aldo, after the comments from McGregor, and his coach, have claimed they see no other possibility than a quick stoppage, many had been left wondering if Dennis Siver was even competing in this bout, and if so, where is he?
Understandably, Siver has been keeping a low profile. A massive underdog for this fight, the German knows that everyone expects McGregor to emerge victorious, and he has been perfectly happy to stay quiet while all the talk is about McGregor v Aldo. That is, until today, when Siver told GroundAndPound.de that he will laugh when he finishes the Irishman:
Everyone thinks I've already lost the fight. You can't hype someone after four fights. In his last fight he has looked good, but the battle was only two minutes or so. For me he landed a fluke punch [against Dustin Poirier], because until then, the whole thing was even. And his fights before that were also nothing special. I'm not impressed at all. He promised to beat me in two minutes, but he can stick that prediction in his ass. When I finish him on Sunday, I'll laugh. I can understand all that shit talking in front of the camera, but when he does it privately, behind the scenes, that proves to me he is an asshole.
There you go. Proof, for Dennis Siver, that Conor McGregor is an asshole.
We'll have to disagree with Dennis on this one, but it's clear that Siver is up for this fight. Then again, anyone who fights Conor McGregor is rarely found wanting for motivation.
