With less than 500m to go in her lightweight women's single sculls final at the European Championships in the Czech Republic, Denise Walsh was out of the medal positions.
A magnificent final quarter of the race saw the Skibbereen rower reel in the opposition as she eventually finished in the silver medal position.
Walsh finished 1.76 seconds behind Sweden's Emma Fredh as the line came perhaps a little too soon for her. Had there been another 100m or so, she may have reeled in the Swede too.
Speaking to David Gillick on RTÉ after the race, Walsh said that she had been wearing her lucky socks.
I bought a five-pack in Penneys on St. Patrick's Day and I wore ones in Belgrade and here today.

Walsh's performance was sandwiched between two other medal-winning races for Ireland.
Shortly before her race, Mark O'Donovan and Shane O'Driscoll claimed gold in the men's lightweight pair. Later in the morning, Olympic silver medalists Gary and Paul O'Donovan took silver in the lightweight men's double sculls.
