Here's a story that will restore some faith in modern day sports stars and hopefully make your day that bit brighter.
Twitter has done a great job of bridging the previously chasming disconnect between professional sports players and the public that adores them. On Wednesday, basketball star Damian Lillard was able to track down a fan who'd asked for a photo with the Portland Trailblazers point guard while he was out shopping.
The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year tweeted his regret about ignoring the young fan, and the latter was very understanding with his reply.
@Dame_Lillard That was me Damian. Its alright. I can't blame you. I bet its annoying taking a million pictures a day. Maybe next time :)

But Lillard wasn't prepared to let it drop there and an exchange followed between the pair.
@SArdestani6 told you to wait... My bad , we'll link up. — Damian Lillard (@Dame_Lillard) August 1, 2013
They arranged to meet up for that elusive photo.
Damian Lillard just told me to go meet him up at Bridgeport. On my way dog.

So later the pair met back at the mall and Siros got his photo:

Naturally, Siros was delighted, as was his mum.
My mom toke a picture with Damian too! He was very nice and humble to her. My mom was amazed of how nice and humble he is.
