Conor McGregor is a big featherweight. He actually said during his UFC 183 Q&A that was 170 pounds at that moment.
A move to lightweight definitely makes sense for him. He has even spoken about one day possibly moving to welterweight.
Something that you don't generally hear from the Dubliner is him being complimentary about possible future opponents. But that is certainly what he was when speaking to MMAFighting.com about current UFC lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis.
I think it would be a great fight. Definitely, 155 is in my future. Anthony is phenomenal on the feet. He's got good jiu-jitsu. I feel it would be a great fight. It's a fight I have my eyes on.
Conor will undoubtedly come up with a few lines to knock Pettis down if the two ever face each other one day.
The American defends his lightweight crown against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185 on March 14th.
