We were out and about in the big bad city of Dublin today to meet up with Irish UFC star Conor McGregor. The Lucan man was at the announcement of Setanta Sport's new deal with BT Sport which will see them broadcasting live UFC events, starting with UFC 163 this weekend.
McGregor told us about his how his life has changed with his journey in MMA so far, what he draws inspiration from, and how he once starred in a film with another famous Irish sports star.
Setanta Sports' UFC coverage will see them broadcast 35 live events per year, including McGregor's next appearance when he fights Max Holloway in the early hours of 18 August in Boston.
Brian Quinn of Setanta Sports said 'We are in particular thrilled to be able to broadcast Conor’s first ever UFC fight stateside. He is a shining light and an excellent ambassador for this country and we look forward to his fight.'
We're definitely looking forward to seeing more of McGregor and we're delighted that he didn't manage to become a carpenter in the end.
