Concussions Forced An NFL Rookie To Retire Before Ever Playing A Game

A rookie NFL wide-receiver has been forced to give up his 'lifelong dream', at least for the time being, due to suffering a concussion before the start of Arizona Cardinals Training Camp. Ryan Swope announced his retirement on Twitter after suffering the injury during an Orgainised Team Activity (the NFl's version of pre-preseason training) in June.

The 22-year-old had two confirmed concussions in college while playing for Texas A&M university which was a significant factor in the very productive receiver falling to the sixth round of the 2013 draft.
