A woman who claims she injured her ribs after being knocked over during a fight for a penis ring is suing the pub where the incident happened, the Irish Times reported yesterday evening.
Sylvia Deehan, 46 from Loughlinstown in Dublin, is suing the Lough Inn in Loughlinstown over the incident which occurred at a performance from the 'Hunks of Desire' as part of an Ann Summers lingerie party.
Deehan was involved in a tussle with another woman for a prize which was described in court as "a ring that goes around a certain part of a man." Ms Deehan had battled her way through to this final scrap for the ring after excelling at an event which consisted of bursting balloons around the strippers' bodies.
After she and her friend tied for first with another pairing, the Ann Summers representative threw the ring up between the two pairs, much like the Archbishop used to do at the All-Ireland final. And much like these fabled midfield scraps in Croke Park, it became a physical affair characterised by digs, shoves, shoulders and bodies crashing to the ground.
Ms Deehan was knocked over and fell against the leg of a loudspeaker, injuring her ribs. She was unable to breathe properly. Her sister took her to hospital and she spent a fortnight in bed recovering after her injuries.
There were further claims.
It was put to her that the other spectators did not see her fall. She replied that she was "no liar" and it was disgusting that people would lie about her.
She was charged with taking a chicken curry meal, provided for free at the Ann Summers party for some reason, before it was her turn to be served.
Deehan grew quite indignant at that claim, informing the court that "I didn't do nothing to no chicken curry."
The court was hit by an outbreak of immaturity when Defence Barrister Joe McGettigan asked whether the prize was "big or small."
