Clare welcome the challenge of Kilkenny to Cusack Park as the top two in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League face off. Here's all you need to know about Clare v Kilkenny.
Kilkenny have hit the ground running at the start of this years season as they look to go one better than the All-Ireland final loss last year. The Cats sit top of the table with 5 points and are coming off the back of two victories an impressive display against Offaly and a tight win against Cork, they drew their opening game in an entertaining fixture versus Wexford.
Clare's fortunes have been similar in their opening to the season. They overcame Cork in a high scoring game to begin their campaign followed by a one score win over Waterford and also took a draw against Wexford last time out. They now sit second in Division 1A only behind on points difference and the winner of this contest will be in pole position to finish at the summit of this year's league table.
This game is all the more intriguing as Clare will be looking for revenge for their All Ireland semifinal loss to the Cats in July. In a brilliant game of hurling Kilkenny came from behind to beat Clare by 3 points. In fact, Kilkenny have knocked Clare out at that same stage two years in a row. No doubt the Banner County will want to get one over on their Leinster rivals.
