Peter O'Mahony and Tadhg Furlong committed their futures Irish rugby over the weekend when it was announced that both had signed new deals with the IRFU.
There is still a host of other players out of contract at the end of this season. CJ Stander is among them. The back row is nearing the end of a two-year extension which he signed in December 2015.
Simon Lewis in today's Irish Examiner reports that French Top 14 side Montpellier will test the South African-born player's commitment to both Munster and Irish rugby.
It is said that the French league's richest side has offered the 27-year-old a head-turning €840,000 per season. It would dwarf the €400,000 plus incentives which the IRFU is reportedly willing to put on the table.
Since joining Munster a little over five years ago, Stander has become a key player for both for his province and his new adopted country.
Two months after putting ink to paper on his last Munster contract, he made his Ireland debut in the Six Nations. He has since won 18 caps and also toured New Zealand with the Lions.
