Charlie Redmond has hit out at Meath for making such a big deal about the alleged biting incident in Sunday's Leinster final. Redmond told the Irish Daily Star that their behaviour has been 'shameful.'
Redmond said:
From what I saw of the incident, there is little evidence of a bite and if it's proven that the Dublin player didn't bite then he should have recourse as it's his reputation that has been brought into question by this.
The former Dublin forward added 'I find it shameful that Meath have made such a big issue out of this' before going on to claim that he was bitten during his playing days:
I know it's wrong and it shouldn't happen but these incidents happen during games and they should be left on the pitch.
Redmond also said that some of the former Meath players would be embarrassed by the whole thing.
