He's already had two fights in 2015 and now Donald Cerrone is on the verge of having his third confirmed.
The number three ranked lightweight will likely face the number two fighter in the division, Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 187, scheduled for May 23rd in Las Vegas. That's actually the event which was rumoured to be held at Croke Park with Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor the main fight.
MMA Junkie's John Morgan reports the near confirmation of what should be a cracking fight. Cerrone tweeted recently that he had signed up for his next fight but was "waiting on this other guy to put the pen to paper".
About 99.9 percent sure @Cowboycerrone vs. @TeamKhabib is co-main of @ufc 187. Just can't get necessary confirmations. But love that fight!!

There's already a title fight in the division between champion Anthony Pettis and Rafael dos Anjos scheduled for March 14th in Dallas. It's likely the winner of the Cerrone and Nurmagomedov fight will face the victor in the Pettis and do Anjos bout.
The other interesting fight which is rumoured to be happening is a super fight between the number one ranked featherweight Frankie Edgar and the number three ranked bantamweight Urijah Faber.
According to MMA-in-Asia.com, it will happen in the Phillipines at UFC Fight Night 65 on May 16th.
What weight the two will take each other on at is not yet known.
