Used though we are in Ireland to the prospect of a GAA double-header, football fans in Scotland are predicting potential carnage as Rangers and Celtic prepare to play alternate Scottish League Cup semi-finals in the same stadium, on the same day.
Due to play Aberdeen and Hearts respectively, Steven Gerrard's Rangers will first play out their semi-final clash in Hampden Park at a lunchtime slot.
Later on that evening, Brendan Rodgers' Celtic will also play in Hampden Park to decide who meets Ranger or Aberdeen in the cup final.
In what is largely being presented as a disastrous scheduling error, many are curious how things may play out when four sets of fans descend upon Glasgow in such a short period of time.
I can’t believe for the sake of their fans the main heads at Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen & Hearts have agreed to this crazy decision. I know police have huge input but surely if all 4 clubs voiced concerns it be a no go....

Aberdeen v Rangers goes to ET and Pens. Not out the ground until 2:30-3pm. Celtic/Hearts supporters due to be in the ground basically 3 hours later. Madness from the SFA and Police Scotland 😂😂 all the best

So you're gonna have Rangers & possibly Aberdeen fans still hanging about pubs around Hampden when Celtic & Hearts fans start rocking up. This'll be carnage 😂

Aberdeen, Celtic, Hearts and Rangers all playing at Hampden...on the same Sunday? That should be fine

Almost as if @policescotland are daring Scottish football fans with this decision today, Celtic or rangers rarely if ever play in the city on the same day under police instructions, but it ok to make them play in same stadium on the same day!!!

Given that neither Celtic nor Rangers ever tend to play in Glasgow on the same day to avoid potential incidences, this development certainly appears unusual given the sheer quantity of fans from either side (and from Aberdeen and Hearts) that will be in or around Glasgow.
