UFC middleweight Mike King has tested positive for anabolic steroids following his bout with Cathal Pendred at Fight Night 46 in Dublin last month. The Unseen Aramada was forced to forfeit the $50,000 Fight of the Night Bonus he earned for the bout after failing the drug test.
Both Pendred and his coach John Kavanagh have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news.
It's gonna take more than PEDs to beat an @SBG_Ireland fighter

P.E.D = Pendred Enjoying Dollars

King annihilated Pendred for the entirety of the first round in Dublin, relentlessly landing bombs on the Dubliner. He almost sank in a rear-naked choke which Pendred somehow survived.
The American wrestler was clearly gassed in the second round which allowed Pendred to pull off one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the UFC and choke him out with a rear-naked choke of his own.
King has agreed to serve a 9 month suspension from fighting and must pass another drug test before being cleared to return to the Octagon.
