Despite beating Sean Spencer at UFC Boston on Sunday night, it seems Cathal Pendred has earned less than the American for the fight.
Initially, it was disclosed that Spencer made $14,000 with Pendred earning $16,000 including his win bonus. However, Spencer told MMA Junkie that the UFC have since agreed to pay him both appearance money and the win bonus. That totals at $28,000.
Pendred won by unanimous decision but it was a contentious result. Dana White agreed with Joe Rogan post-fight that Spencer had been robbed. There is an argument for the decision being the correct one though, which you can read here.
Spencer also told MMA Junkie that:
Dana has been real supportive with this whole thing.
The two have also agreed to a re-match on Twitter.
@MMAjunkie in less than 45min. I've only been thinking about getting to beat up @PendredMMA again but doing it in a place with no bias.
