Well here’s something you don’t see every day. We’ve all been to rugby matches and seen Crossbar Challenges, and 99% of the time they fail. It’s not much different than the half-court shots you might see at an NBA game. A couple of punters step up to the tee during half time or before the game with the best of intentions, take their kick, miss horribly and then go back to their ordinary lives.
Well, Ulster fan Philip Hutchinson flipped the script last Friday at Ravenhill in the BT Crossbar Challenge. As you’ll see in this pretty fun video below, Hutchinson rather calmly stepped up, bends his knees and amazingly his kick grazes the crossbar. And he goes mental, jumping around the pitch like O’Gara after that drop goal against Wales. Fair play to him.
He won three grand from BT so you’d understand his excitement.
