Yankees General Manager Brain Cashman has joined Margaret Thatcher in the Pogonophobes Hall of Shame.
The Yankees don't want to know about the former Dodger's pitcher Brian Wilson because of his majestic bear according to New York journalist Andy McCullough
Brian Cashman says you can rule out the Yankees signing Brian Wilson. His agent told team he won't shave beard. True story, Cashman says.

Margaret Thatcher's famous hatred of beards supposedly stemmed from the fact that so many trade union leaders wore them. We're not sure where Cashman's aversion comes from.
How many others have suffered or overlooked for promotion because of societies' prejudice against beards? I don't hear Niall Crowley and the Equality Authority talking about this.
The scourge of Pogonophobia is disgracefully under-highlighted in public life. Movember has done wonders for the truly ridiculous moustasche. Surely it's not beyond humanity to develop a similar initiative for beards.
Our beard bracket final between John Muldoon and Anthony Pilkington comes up soon.
