Boxing Promoter Frank Warren Lashes Out At "Disgusting" Chris Eubank Tweet About Kell Brook's Loss

Kell Brook's brave but losing performance against the frightening power of Gennady Golovkin attracted much admiration from boxing fans, as did, after some reflection, his corner's decision to throw in the towel before their fighter got into serious bother.

The socket of his right eye had already been fractured.

One corner of the middleweight division wasn't bowled over. Chris Eubank Jnr appears to be hankering after a fight with Golovkin. He tweeted the champion on Sunday afternoon. For whatever reason, his corner haven't purchased any towels.

The crass tweet has been widely attacked since Sunday.

Promoter Frank Warren, who has called Eubank Snr "an imbecile" and says he doesn't want to work with him ever again, dubbed the comments "disgusting" in an interview with Jeff Powell of the Daily Mail.

It’s disgusting. If the fight had gone any longer Brook would have had a serious problem down the line.

Old Chris is an imbecile and his son is complicit in allowing all the nonsense. They keep talking about how they want to fight the likes of Golovkin but then back out.

They have no real options because Senior is terrified his son will get beat and the gravy train will stop. When it comes to big fights all they do is talk. They never sign the contract.

Warren noted that the comments were particularly reprehensible considering the Eubank's involvement in the Nick Blackwell fight.

Eubank Jnr has already been beaten by Billy Joe Saunders in late 2014. Saunders went on to challenge Lee for the WBO title.

In an interview with Alan Brazil on Talksport, Brook's trainer Dominic Ingle said the tweet typified their "ignorance".

There is one very, very simple answer to Chris Eubank and his son.

When Chris Eubank Jnr boxed Billy Joe Saunders, the first five rounds were a non-event. That wasn't fighting. So it is no good Eubank Jnr talking about you fight to the death and you do this, that and the other. For the first five rounds against Billy Joe Saunders, he stood and looked at the guy and lost the fight. That is the simple answer.

... It is just ironic that Chris Eubank and his father were both in fights where fighters were critically injured. It just shows their ignorance.
