Exciting news this Friday the 13th. 'The Balls.ie Guide To Life' has been shortlisted on the longlist for Ireland's most important and prestigious literary prize, the inaugural Setanta Sports Book of the Year award.

The 'Guide' is one of 24 books to make the list and we rub shoulders with the likes of Stephen Ferris's autobiography and Tom English's book on Irish rugby (which we hear great things about).
We may not have been shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards sports book of the year, but as Paul Kimmage said on Newstalk on Sunday, there's a whole lot of dross on that list. Long live the Setanta Sports Book of the Year award!
