Badminton is not generally considered to be the most violent of sports but this incident certainly breaks that mould.
Two former Thai Olympic badminton players came to blows during a tournament in Vancouver over the weekend. Bodin Issara and Maneepong Jongjit had been doubles partners previously but were competing against each other in the Canadan Open doubles final.
The two teams were swapping ends of the court when Issara chased Jongjit onto an adjacent court and began punching him on the ground. Both players were disqualified from the match and Jongjit ended up receiving five stitches in his ear.
