Exciting times as the IRFU, along with members of the Irish government and Northern Irish executive, are set to unveil an All Ireland bid to host the 2023 World Cup tomorrow.
It's understood that the bid – which will be revealed at an event in Armagh tomorrow – will propose Croke Park and a number of other GAA grounds as possible match venues along with the Aviva, Kingspan Stadium in Ravenhill and Thomond Park.
Earlier this year former Irish international Hugo MacNeill became chair of a cross border committee who have spent 10 months examining the feasibility of a joint bid. This was of course greatly helped by a decision at the 2013 GAA Congress to allow the use of their stadiums for such an event.
Time to cross our fingers and toes.
