In an interview where he told Jose Aldo that he was going to 'eat his soul', Conor McGregor also had to educate Dana White on the distinction between Ireland and the UK.
You would expect that a man who has called himself Irish-American would know the difference between the two states, this was not the case however.
This is how to exchange between White and McGregor went down.
White: Well, personally I think this is the biggest fight of the year. This is a fight that the world will be watching. Now when you have a fight where countries, literally countries care about the fight, it's a big deal. All of Brazil will be watching him defend his title [points to Jose Aldo], all of the UK will be watching [points to Conor McGregor]. You'll have Canada, United States, Australia...
McGregor [interrupts]: Ireland will be watching.
White: Ireland, Ireland. I thought that was the same thing, apparently not.
McGregor: It is most certainly not.
Once the geography lesson was over, Dana White disclosed that the UFC has spent more money promoting the Aldo and McGregor title fight than any other.
It was compelling viewing.
