John Oliver spent 20 minutes taking the NCAA to task over March Madness on Sunday night.
March Madness is a huge money-spinning college basketball tournament held annually raking in $1 billion in TV ad revenue. The players however do not receive a cent in compensation.
Oliver played a clip from last year's tournament where Shabazz Napier of winners UConn spoke about how there were numerous nights when he went to bed hungry but was still expected to perform game after game.
The host quipped about this:
Hunger Games should take place annually in a dystopian future not every March sponsored by Coca Cola on CBS.
The full 20 minutes is well worth a watch.
