Many Clouds and jockey Leighton Aspell were the heroes for many in Saturday's Aintree Grand National. The two returned home winners at 25-1.

Another hero though was Ruby Walsh. His ride Ballycasey along with the fancied Balthazar King both fell at the 8th. The latter horse was unable to get back to his feet after the fall and required attention on course. With the field heading towards the fence once more, Ruby stepped up as emergency flagman to ensure jockeys rode around.

Balthazar King was later transported off course to receive further medical care.
