Earlier this week, Conor McGregor's coach John Kavanagh said that the featherweight's title fight against Jose Aldo would likely take place in mid-summer, probably July.
McGregor himself has backed that up in an interview with USA Today Sports.
It's still a little bit in the air. I think July we're talking. Early July around the international fight week we're talking now. It was supposed to be May, there were rumours of May, now we're talking July.
That date would most likely be July 11th, for which UFC 189 is currently scheduled.
The Dubliner also spoke about his plans leading up to the fight, saying that he would like set up camp in Las Vegas eight weeks in advance of the bout.
Vegas for me is a home away from home. I've been there the past week. I got back now tonight. Chances are I'm going to come out there eight weeks before the fight. Set up a house, set up my team out there and have it as a home away from home. Have that home field advantage. I feel Vegas is home aswell.
