Quick Thinking Stops The Most Embarrassing Penalty In NFL History Last Night

The Oakland Raiders are finally off the board with a win in the NFL. To put into context how bad the Bay area franchise have been through their first 11 games of the season would be like saying that Burnley have been a lot more competitive in the Premier League than the Raiders.

They recorded their first win last night, but nearly screwed it up in the last 40 seconds. After their defense recorded as sack, the silly American tradition of celebrating any decent play was taken too far by two Raiders defenders - first round rookie Khalil Mack and second year player Sio Moore began celebrating down the field. However, Kansas City went to carry on the game knowing the clock was running.

In this instance, the referees would have called a penalty on Oakland, stopped the clock for the Chiefs and given them a much needed boost in their attempt to win the game. So, naturally penalty flags flew and attention turned to the referees, who would award a TIMEOUT to the Raiders. It turns out some fantastic quick thinking from former Giant and Superbowl winner Justin Tuck, recognised his idiotic teammates were about to give away a penalty and called for a timeout:
