Formula One legend Eddie Jordan has passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with an aggressive form of cancer.
The Dubliner was Ireland's most well-known character on the Formula One circuit, and infectiously managed his own Jordan Grand Prix team before turning to punditry and podcasting after the team's sale in 2005.
Tributes have been flowing in since the tragic news was announced by Jordan's family on Wednesday morning. They all rightly remembered a 'legend', a 'rock star' and one of the most infectious and flamboyant characters in Motorsport who had lived every day to its fullest.
While nobody could doubt the infectious effect the Dubliner had on people the world over, it was in the former Formula Team owner's darkest moment that he had perhaps his most profound and important impact.

Eddie Jordan remembered for brave prostate cancer message
Detailing his health issues on his Formula For Success podcast last year, Jordan had explained that he had been diagnosed with an 'aggressive' form of cancer in March of 2024.
"Way back in March and April, I was diagnosed with bladder and prostate cancer and then it spread into the spine and the pelvis, so it was quite aggressive," explained Jordan.
Even in the midst of dealing with such an incredible challenge, Jordan approached the revelation with that unwavering passion he had become known for, focusing not on his own misfortunes but on using his platform to spread awareness and encourage others to 'go and get tested'.
But this is a letter for all the anchors and everybody listening to this. Don't wait or put it off. Go and get tested.
In life you've got chances and there is so much medical advice out there and so many things that you can do to extend your lifetime.
Go and do it. Don't be stupid, don't be shy, it's not a shy thing, look after your body guys.

Few, if any, of Jordan's long list of contributions to sport and the world summed him up better than those all-important words, that embodied his passion, energy and belief in making the most of every occasion, day and moment.
Having spoken so bravely about his diagnosis and encouraged other men to get tested for cancer, medical outlets across the UK and Ireland have been sharing tributes to Jordan, applauding him for his stance.

Greatly saddened at the passing of Eddie Jordan. Eddie lived life to the full, facing his final days with the same courage and tenacity displayed throughout many years as an entrepreneur, F1 pioneer and TV pundit. There were few like him. My sympathies to his family and friends.
