Tyron Woodley and Wonderboy Thompson served up the first UFC Madison Square Garden classic at UFC 205, before ever Conor McGregor took on Eddie Alvarez. Theirs went the distance, with Thompson somehow surviving a guillotine in the fourth round to see the fight out.
Many fans' scorecards had the fight as a draw, and ahead of the announcement, MC Bruce Buffer left the Octagon to double check the result. He then announced that the first two judges had called the fight as a tie, at 47-47. The third judge however, called it in Woodley's favour: 48-46. Buffer then announced Woodley had retained his belt on split decision, which is wrong: the judges' scorecards made it a majority draw.
That should be a majority draw. No?

Halfway through Joe Rogan's post-fight interview with Woodley, he was told in his ear that they had to issue a correction. Watch the awkwardness unfold below:
Bizarre.
First time I have seen that happen 😳 #UFC205

Despite the cock-up, it doesn't alter the outcome: Woodley retains his welterweight belt. But expect these two men to get it on again sooner rather than later.
