In celebration of their big launch in Ireland, UK sports book giant Coral decided to make UFC 196 infinitely more exciting for an extremely lucky group of friends from Dublin.
Presented with massive 10/1 odds on a Conor McGregor victory over Nate Diaz, each guy was gifted a €500 free bet with Coral. As you can imagine, there wasn't much hesitation as to which fighter to place their respective bets on. Oh dear.
As spectacular as the scenes at the MGM Grand Garden Arena were, with a hardened Diaz submitting the red hot favourite McGregor in the second round, the finish in Vegas was eclipsed by a shocked reaction in front of a tv screen across the Atlantic. For a group of Dubs whose vested interest in the fight was suddenly increased literally tenfold, McGregor's defeat culminated in absolute dejection
