In fairness to Conor McGregor, when he says he's going to do something, he tends to get it done.
At last week's press conference, there was a certain roguish charm to an Irishman telling Nate Diaz, with an air of legitimacy, that he runs the West Coast. It was as though McGregor was fulfilling the dreams of the thousands of Irish teenagers who go through the inevitable 2pac and Biggie phase - which, considering his moniker and entrance song, he may never have quite shaken off.
Ahead of his 170lb debut at UFC 196 this Saturday, the Crumlin man was up to his usual tricks; cruising through LA in one of his numerous cars with the top down, presumably Instagramming the experience for all to see.
Ever the observationist, the reigning featherweight champ recently spotted a cardboard cut-out of himself on a balcony draped with Irish flags. He promised to personally visit the super-fan in question.
Naturally, he followed through, and his impromptu arrival provoked some of the strangest noises ever heard from a grown man. This is magic.
