UFC Embedded is back, and judging by Conor McGregor's form on the previous iterations of the series we can look forward to some highlights to emerge in the coming week.
Some of McGregor's finest moments outside of the octagon have come from the 'Embedded' series, in particular his encounters with Jose Aldo both on the World Press Tour and in the run up to UFC 194 had the fans in stitches.
This time it may be a little different considering the mutual respect that is being reserved, to a degree, between McGregor and Nate Diaz ahead of the rematch. Of course, there were still a few jabs thrown by the Dubliner when the cameras were around, but the main talking point of episode one was no doubt the ridiculous core workout that McGregor goes through with his striking coach Owen Roddy from the open workouts that took place over the weekend.
McGregor lies down, gets into position to strengthen his core, and then gets the shite beaten out of his stomach by Roddy with boxing gloves on for a solid 10 seconds at a time.
That looks... Painful.
We've no doubt it works, if not for core strengthening reasons then for making McGregor look like a tough bastard, but it's unlikely to impress Nate Diaz who, as always, was more concerned with shouting out his team members than offering anything to the UFC cameramen.
The series will get much more interesting around Wednesday when the media obligations kick in and we get some of that always interesting backstage access.
