Dubliner Ian Garry is one of the most exciting prospects in Irish MMA. The Dubliner is contracted to Cage Warriors but has his eyes firmly set on the UFC. Last night, 'The Future' moved to 6-0 in his career with a furious head kick knockout of Swede Rostem Akman at the Cage Warriors 121 event last night.

Garry was in bullish form speaking after the fight. 'I've been saying this for days, weeks, months. This is what's happening. From my debut, I've been saying, 'I'm going to be the champ, I'm going the UFC, and I'm going to leave a legacy,'' he said.
Garry will now fight Jack Grant for the vacant Cage Warriors welterweight belt. However, it's clear that the Future has his eye on a much bigger prize. Garry told Sean Sheehan of SevereMMA this week that he is ready for the UFC.
UFC insiders certainly think Garry will soon be getting a call from Dana White.
Oh my. Ian Garry wins via head kick in the second. Superb showing. The kid is for real. I suspect you’ll be seeing him in the UFC before the year is over.

Garry is trained by Chris Fields and Tom King. He told the Trinity News in 2018 that he did a year of a degree in retail at DIT only to quit to focus on fighting.
“I’ll wake up every day, I dream about fighting… I’ll wake up and think about choking you out, through the whole day I’ll think about sparking someone, and then I’ll fall asleep at night thinking about making someone tap. I’m obsessed with it. It’s only just starting with me but it’s creeping in slowly and slowly and slowly.”
