A brutal elbow called a halt to proceedings during the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 120 last night when Matt 'The Immortal' Brown (22-16-0) knocked out Diego 'Nightmare' Sanchez (29-10-0) in round one of their welterweight bout.
Sanchez was the aggressor from the outset immediately attempting a take down but Brown defended it admirably and Sanchez backed off, changed tack before attempting another take down to no avail.
The pair began to trade blows and Sanchez connected with a beautiful left kick to the liver which visibly hurt Brown but crucially there was no follow up strikes from Sanchez allowing Brown to catch a second wind.
"The Immortal" caught a kick from Sanchez and backed "Nightmare" onto the fence before landing an elbow flush to the head of Sanchez that sent him crashing to the floor. There was certainly no need for a follow up blow.
