Is it unfair that Joseph Duffy has the "last man to defeat Conor McGregor" tag follow him around everywhere he goes? Yes, to an extent, as the man from Donegal is making his own way in the UFC these days, but at the same time, it's hardly a derogatory term.
Duffy has been extremely impressive in his two UFC bouts to date, and we are eagerly awaiting his exciting match-up with Dustin Poirier on January 2nd, having gotten over the disappointment of that fight missing it's original scheduling at the 3 Arena back in October.
But it was back in June that Duffy was asked for his opinion on McGregor Vs Aldo, a fight we all thought was just around the corner at that stage, and 'Irish Joe' sat himself nowhere near the fence as he hit the nail on the head.
I see Conor knocking him out.
I think his distance control is better, he's a lot more loose, relaxed. I've said it since day one that Conor will take him out within three.
You've got to the love the confidence with which he said that as well, the interviewer seemed almost surprised at the quickness that Duffy came to his decision.
Another reminder, Joseph Duffy fights Dustin Poirier at UFC 195 on January 2nd, and the fight will be shown on the FightPass prelims, which means it will be far more reasonable a kick-off time for Irish fans wanting to stay up.
But then again, the rest of that card features some seriously exciting fights including Robbie Lawler Vs Carlos Condit, so you shouldn't make plans for the Sunday afternoon.
