Although it was just the second fight of UFC 200, Jose Aldo vs Frankie Edgar felt very much like a main event with the interim belt on the line and both fighters going the distance.
Aldo would claim the win via unanimous decision, looking very sharp while doing so as he looked a step ahead of Frankie Edgar throughout. Aldo controlled Frankie's pressure and did more damage while also stuffing takedowns with ease, all under the watchful glare of a certain Irishman.

Aldo was again leaving the octagon with gold around his waist as the interim champion, but before he left he had a message for Conor McGregor. Nothing as wild as when Conor jumped the fence and screamed in Aldo's face, but the Brazilian made it clear he had revenge on his mind.
As expected, @JoseAldoJunior & @TheNotoriousMMA go at it! #UFC200 https://t.co/SAcp1ptLSv

It's inevitable.
Frankie Edgar must now find an alternative route to McGregor and the title, possibly involving Max Holloway or even Doo Ho Choi who impressed the previous night. For Aldo, a potential rematch with Conor McGregor could be on for the New York card planned for late in the year.
