A rather unusual discussion took place on the Joe Rogan Experience this week, as Brendan Shaub and the UFC commentator were discussing the issue of bloody fights causing issues for the fighters that had to enter the octagon immediately after them.
Rogan revealed an aspect of the UFC's production on Fox Sports that we didn't know existed, and it's probably because they didn't want us to, but it turns out that in-between fights, officials actually spray-paint over the bloodstains on the mat.
This is apparently because Fox want to ensure that their broadcasts contain as little blood as possible... But surely they knew what they were getting in to? Regardless, Rogan did a fantastic job at getting across how silly the situation is...
And during Fox fights, I'm not supposed to talk about blood, I'm supposed to take it down a notch.
That is just crazy, but to be expected from a broadcaster like Fox who have probably taken a lot of criticism for showing MMA in the first place.
