Ariel never forgets.
The MMAFighting.com journalist, or the people's champ as some are now calling him, welcomed 19 year old Irish figher James Gallagher onto The MMA Hour this week to discuss his win at Bellator 158 this past weekend, and in doing so ensured that The Strabanimal came good on a promise he made two years ago.
On July 18th 2014, one night before Conor McGregor headlined an historic night for Irish MMA at the O2 Arena, James Gallagher, then just 17, approached Ariel Helwani (who was sitting next to our own John Balfe, as he says in the clip) and introduced himself claiming that some day soon Ariel would be interviewing him on his show.
Two years to the day later, this happened...
That was fantastic.
Gallagher's well-known SBG teammate has proven how far you can go if you back up what you say, so that's a very good start for someone tipped for the very top.
