American mixed martial artist Dustin Ortiz knocked out Mexican Hector Sandoval at UFC Mexico last night and secured himself the fastest knock out in UFC flyweight history while he was at it.
Ortiz' record stands at 24-7, and was looking to bounce back after a loss in April 2017 to Mexican Brandon Moreno at UFC Fight Night 108.
The American knocked Hector Sandoval's lights out after just 15 seconds of round one and is now the fastest ever finish in the 125-pound division.
The previous record for the fastest knock out in the division came when Colombian Fredy Serrano knocked out Chinese mixed martial artist Yao Zhikui after just 44 seconds.
Before you could get comfy in your chair, the bout was over as Sandoval came forward with a combination that prompted Ortiz to step back and fire a counter right hand which caught the Mexican as he moved in.
With Sandoval stunned, Ortiz sensed his prey and connected with another right hand that dropped the Mexican to the canvas and Ortiz raced in to apply three brutal hammerfists to the face before the referee stopped called a halt to proceedings.
The main event of the night saw number 6 ranked flyweight take on number seven ranked Brandon Moreno and it was Pettis who secured a unanimous victory over five rounds against Moreno.
