The build up to UFC 199 has been, and will continue to be, extremely enjoyable for MMA fans all over the world as Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber get set to reignite their old rivalry on June 4th.
There's also the little matter of Luke Rockhold Vs Chris Weidman II, but the co-main is expected to provide a lot more comic relief in the run-up to the event, as can be seen from Cruz's latest comments on his old foe.
Recently, Faber had been floating the idea that Cruz may have been using PEDs, but his suggestions are perhaps designed to wind his opponent up rather than being based on anything, but this is something that has not impressed Dominick at all and was what sparked a highly amusing comparison to a car salesman.
It is slander. 100% and that's Faber's style. He has no character and he proved that because before he said anything about me...he threw the kid that he mentored from high school all the way up, he threw him under the bus to try to make himself look good. That's Faber's style. He'll throw his own family under the bus to make sure that his name is cleared and he looks good...That's his style.
I've known that about Faber since 2007. I've always said that. People don't want to believe it, people are gonna believe what they want about that guy, but he's a car salesman. He gives you what he thinks you want to hear instead of the truth.
Cruz is not impressed by Faber throwing that accusation out there, and to be fair it's understandable.
The California Kid does hold the one win over Cruz in his professional career from a guillotine choke in 2007, but he will be the underdog on June 4th considering how sharp the champ looked when taking the belt away from TJ Dillashaw. This feud is very real, and will surely offer more memorable moments as we get closer to fight week.
